CNU Stretch is an in-person stretch therapy certification and licensing company based in Dover, Delaware. Founded in 2024 by Evans Armantrading Jr., it certifies personal trainers, massage therapists, chiropractors, physical therapists and other fitness professionals in assisted stretch therapy, and licenses gyms, studios and health clubs to run it as their own branded service. Its Level I & II certification is approved for continuing education by NASM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA and NCBTMB.

Our Story

It Started With a Client Named Tammy

In 2014, a client named Tammy walked into our Dover, Delaware gym completely overwhelmed. She was a tax accountant in the middle of tax season — stressed, exhausted, and unable to handle the intensity of a normal training session.

So we dropped it down. We skipped the workout and just stretched her instead. It helped.

The next week, still stressed, she came back. We stretched her again. Then she said something that changed the direction of our business:

"Can we just do the stretches we do at the end of sessions — for the whole session?"

So we did. And other clients started asking for the same thing. For the next four to five years, stretch therapy was a quiet back-end service we offered without a real name, a real system, or a real business model around it.

The System Changes Everything

In 2020, we decided to treat stretch like we treat training — with consultations, structured sessions, pricing, and systems. That first year brought in roughly $13,000 in stretch revenue. The next year it more than tripled, to $44,000. Then to $154,000.

In 2024, CNU Fit generated $246,267 in stretch therapy services delivered directly to clients inside our gyms — and in 2025 that number climbed to $458,625, up 86%. That's stretch revenue alone, separate from training.

In 2024, we launched CNU Stretch as a certification and licensing platform — giving fitness professionals the techniques, the assessment systems, and the business tools to build stretch therapy into a real, profitable service. Since then, we've trained personal trainers, massage therapists, group fitness instructors, chiropractors, physical therapists, and gym owners across more than 49 locations — including the first dedicated stretch therapy operation in the Dominican Republic.

CNU Fit Founded in Delaware

Evans opens the first CNU Fit location, building a semi-private training model that will eventually serve 400+ clients across three Delaware locations.
2014

The First Stretch Session

A stressed client named Tammy asks to skip the workout and just stretch. The first unofficial stretch therapy session takes place on the gym floor.
2014–2020

6 Different Stretch Therapy Certifications

Evans pursues every credible stretch therapy certification on the market — sampling techniques, isolating what worked on real clients, and identifying the gaps every certification leaves unfilled.
2020

Systems Change the Revenue

Stretch therapy gets a real system — consultations, session structure, pricing. Revenue more than triples the next year, from $13K to $44K.

GYR System Developed

The Green-Yellow-Red client feedback framework replaces the 1–10 pain scale, cutting new therapist ramp-up time and improving client outcomes from session one.

Stretch therapy that actually works on the people who need it most isn't aggressive. CNU Stretch combines Fascial Stretching and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) in a soft-touch protocol designed to down-regulate the nervous system — not trigger pain receptors to force movement.

After years working with clients carrying fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune conditions, we developed a system that speaks to the musculoskeletal AND fascial systems — but is led by the nervous system, gently. Clients don't tense up. They settle in. They come back.

Amanda is CNU Stretch's lead stretch therapist and head instructor. She brings an academic foundation in exercise science alongside hands-on certifications in corrective exercise and stretch therapy. Amanda is the practitioner who ensures every student leaves the two-day intensive not just knowing the stretches — but executing them with precision and confidence.
